When hedge fund Citadel announced it was moving its headquarters from Chicago to Miami in 2022, the city was dubbed ‘Wall Street South.’
Since then the migration of firms and their billions of dollars in assets has accelerated, with firms setting up shop from Miami up to Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Palm and West Plam Beach.
Some of the industryโs largest hedge funds now have offices or headquarters here. Balyasny Asset Management, ExodusPoint Capital Management, Millennium Management, Point 72 Asset Management, D1 Capital Partners and Schonfeld Strategic Advisors have all expanded in the state. In 2020, Elliott Management moved its headquarters to Florida. In a recent move, hedge fund Aurelius Capital Management moved its headquarters to South Florida from New York.
The number of Florida-based hedge funds has been steadily increasing over the past several years. There were 211 active hedge funds in Florida in 2019 and that number has now hit nearly 400 year-to-date, according to data from Preqin Pro.
Institutional Analyst Inc, maintains a ‘local hedge fund’ database with detailed contact information for these Florida based funds and more than 2,800 other hedge funds, nationwide. It includes the top hedge funds in the US, as well as smaller boutique funds. It includes firm name, address, phone, fax, website URL, and portfolio manager contacts.
We designed the Gold Investment Conference as a Video Archived Conference (VAC), so that these local professional investors can attend live, if desired.
Unlike retail conferences attendees, as much as they would like to the typical professional investor and/or hedge fund manager, cannot spend an entire day away from the trading desk. Fortunately if they cannot attend the conference, they can view our archived presentation videos at their leisure, with select videos, mailed weekly.
The difference between a VAC and a live streaming or zoom conference is, again most professionals simply don’t have time to listen to eight hours of presentations. They need to view at their leisure.
Funds that have advised us of their current, or future interest in precious and industrial metals, have receive an conference invitation and subscription to our weekly video presentation list.
One to One Meetings
Our experience about arranging one-on-one meetings during a conference between the 100’s of issuers and 100’s of fund managers, in one or two days, is not a compelling experience for either the fund manager or company executive. So we do not schedule them that during the conference.
In addition to receiving priority invitations to our conferences, Institutional Analyst Inc., and Gold Institutional Analyst, can arrange one-on-one conference calls between fund managers and executive management. Invited portfolio managers additionally receive priority access to archived presentations, via our weekly conference newsletter.
